Geoff has a BS in mathematics and economics from the California Institute of Technology and an MS and PhD in mathematics from the University of California at Irvine. He is a co-founder of JustMilk, a co-inventor of the technology, and current Treasurer on the Board of Directors. He also provides technical and logistical support to the project using his background in medical device development for low-resource settings. He took 1 year of his Bachelor’s degree at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and as part of his PhD he was based at the University of California, Berkeley and the California Department of Public Health, Richmond. He has worked on projects based in South Africa, Ghana and Honduras developing technologies focused on improving public health. He has also worked with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Development “D”-Lab and International Development Design Summits over the past 8 years. Stephen is originally from Manchester, England. Based in Boston, she leads JustMilk's efforts to conduct their first user acceptability study in a western setting, in collaboration with Massachusetts General Hospital, and steered work on a visual identity update. At D-Lab, Becca led qualitative needs assessment efforts, published the Scale-Ups User Research Framework, and conducted field work in Zambia, Kenya, Tanzania, Ghana, India, Brazil and Haiti. She holds a B.S. in Molecular Environmental Biology with a concentration in Environment and Human Health from the University of California, Berkeley and a Masters in Public Health from Johns Hopkins University. Aspen lead the collaboration between JustMilk and the University of Venda in Limpopo, South Africa, where she researched cultural acceptability and human-centered design requirements of the JustMilk device. She performed technical research and development of the device at the University of Cambridge, where she received her PhD in Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology as a Gates Scholar. She is passionate about using engineering principles to develop medical devices, diagnostics, and medications aimed at improving public health in resource-limited settings. She holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Texas, where she researched drug delivery.
